Gift Ngwenya was born in South Africa and educated in Zimbabwe, where he began his auctioneering
career at the largest auction house in Zimbabwe as a mere ticket marker. Under guidance, he worked
his way up to become an in-house Auctioneer.
Always looking for growth, Gift was introduced to the Tobacco Sales Floor, the largest tobacco floors
in the world. Therein he honed his trade, starting off as a Trainee Tobacco Auctioneer, and soon after
graduated as a fully qualified Auctioneer, spending 5 years in service.
All the while, Gift was also being trained as a horse race commentator, all thanks to his "gift of the
gab", and was soon calling races at the Borrowdale Racecourse.
