It aims to improve the lives of caddies financially and to promote them as golfers through sponsorships to participate in tournaments. The Foundation also offers mentorship in life skills and financial management.
The Foundation actively promotes the memory of the Tambo’s through education, community upliftment, arts and culture, sport and women empowerment Initiatives.
To set up a golf academy for youth who have no access to the game of golf. To provide a safe place. To provide life skills. To provide community
a) Establishing a nationwide golf library: We aim to create a golf library that allows underprivileged communities to have access to golf clubs. Individuals who cannot afford their own golf clubs will be able to “book out” a set from the library, enabling them to play a round or tournament and return the clubs afterwards. This initiative aims to increase the accessibility of the beautiful game to those who would otherwise be excluded.
b) Building a golf range in Lombardy East: Located next to Alexandra Township, this golf range will provide a space for aspiring golfers from underserved communities to practise and develop their skills.
This fund will support deserving caddies across the country by addressing some of the challenges they face in participating in golf tournaments. By providing financial assistance, training opportunities, and resources, we aim to empower caddies and enhance their contribution to the sport.
Your sponsorship will contribute to the continued efforts of The Oliver & Adelaide Tambo Foundation in the continued pursuit of excellence.
We invite you to support this cause: increasing accessibility to golf by joining us in taking a collective swing at accelerating the opportunities for ordinary South Africans. Your sponsorship will not only contribute to these meaningful initiatives but also provide your brand with a unique opportunity to align with Oliver Tambo’s vision. Together, let us honour Oliver Tambo, a remarkable South African. Legacy. Inclusion. Community. Working towards amore inclusive and equitable South Africa.
